Kenya, Namibya ve Tanzanya gibi baz\u0131 Afrika \u00fclkelerindeki olu\u015fumlar ise, kristalografik farkl\u0131l\u0131klar\u0131 ve daha d\u00fc\u015f\u00fck reolojik \u00f6zellikleri dolay\u0131s\u0131yla, ancak basit absorbtif ama\u00e7lara uygun kullan\u0131m alanlar\u0131 sa\u011flayabilmektedir. \u00dclkemizde l\u00fcleta\u015f\u0131 t\u00fcr\u00fc sepiyolit, y\u00fczy\u0131llardan beri bilinen ve geleneksel ihra\u00e7 \u00fcr\u00fcnlerimizden olan bir mineral olmas\u0131na kar\u015f\u0131l\u0131k, sedimanter olu\u015fumlu, tabakal\u0131 tip sepiyolit yataklar\u0131na y\u00f6nelik bilimsel ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar, 1988 y\u0131l\u0131nda MTA Genel M\u00fcd\u00fcrl\u00fc\u011f\u00fc projeleri ile ba\u015flat\u0131lm\u0131\u015f ve \u00f6zellikle Japon Ara\u015ft\u0131rma Enstit\u00fcleri ile geli\u015ftirilen ortak teknoloji \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131 sayesinde T\u00fcrkiye\u2019deki sepiyolit yataklar\u0131n\u0131n \u00f6nemli bir k\u0131sm\u0131n\u0131n karakterizasyonu yap\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.<\/p><p>Sepiyolit ve paligorskit, fillosilikat grubuna dahil kil mineralleridir. Bu mineral grubunun tan\u0131m\u0131na uygun olarak (Brindley ve Pedro, 1972), T2O5\u00a0 (T=Si, Al, Be&#8230;) bile\u015fimli, iki y\u00f6nl\u00fc s\u00fcrekli bir tetrahedral tabaka, buna kar\u015f\u0131l\u0131k di\u011fer tabaka silikatlar\u0131ndan farkl\u0131 olarak s\u00fcreksiz oktahedral tabakalardan olu\u015furlar. Bu minerallerin kristal str\u00fckt\u00fcr\u00fc, 2:1 fillosilikat str\u00fckt\u00fcr\u00fcne ait zincirlerin birbirine ba\u011flanmas\u0131ndan meydana gelir. Her bir zincir, di\u011ferine ters ardalanmal\u0131 SiO4\u00a0tetrahedronlar\u0131 vas\u0131tas\u0131yla Si-O-Si ba\u011flar\u0131 ile tutturulmu\u015ftur. Zincir \u015feklindeki yap\u0131, X-eksenine paralel uzan\u0131r ve Y-ekseni boyunca geni\u015fli\u011fi, sepiyolitte \u00fc\u00e7 adet ba\u011fl\u0131 piroksen-tipi zincir geni\u015fli\u011fi kadard\u0131r. Buna g\u00f6re, 2:1 tabaka yap\u0131s\u0131 X-ekseni boyunca s\u00fcrekli, buna kar\u015f\u0131l\u0131k Y-ekseni boyunca kesiklidir. Basit olarak sepiyolit sulu magnezyum silikat, atapulgit (paligorskit) ise sulu magnezyum-al\u00fcminyum silikat bile\u015fimli kil mineralleridir. Sepiyolit str\u00fckt\u00fcr\u00fc, \u0131s\u0131l muamelelere kar\u015f\u0131 hassast\u0131r. Zeolitik ve adsorbe su molek\u00fclleri, \u0131s\u0131 derecesi y\u00fckseldik\u00e7e kaybedilir. Mineral ayr\u0131ca asitle muameleye kar\u015f\u0131 da duyarl\u0131 olup bu i\u015flem sonucu kristal yap\u0131s\u0131 k\u0131smen tahrip olabilir. Hem \u0131s\u0131 hem de asit muameleleri, sepiyolitin y\u00fczey \u00f6zellikleri ve porozitesini de\u011fi\u015ftirebilir. B\u00f6ylece mineralin en faydal\u0131 \u00f6zelliklerinden (\u00f6rne\u011fin absorptif, kolloidal ve katalitik \u00f6zellikler) baz\u0131lar\u0131n\u0131 bu i\u015flemlerle de\u011fi\u015ftirmek m\u00fcmk\u00fcn olabilmektedir. Levha yap\u0131s\u0131na sahip di\u011fer kil minerallerine g\u00f6re daha nadir bulunmalar\u0131, \u00e7ok \u00f6zel \u015fartlarda yataklanmalar g\u00f6stermeleri, dokusal \u00f6zellikleri, kristal yap\u0131lar\u0131ndaki s\u00fcreksizliklere ba\u011fl\u0131 kanallar taraf\u0131ndan sa\u011flanan y\u00fcksek \u00f6zg\u00fcl y\u00fczey alanlar\u0131 ile absorpsiyon \u00f6zelli\u011fi, porozitesi, kristal morfolojisi ile kompozisyonun ba\u011fl\u0131 uygun nitelikli fizikokimyasal \u00f6zellikleri, an\u0131lan mineralleri t\u00fcm d\u00fcnyada k\u0131ymeti gittik\u00e7e artan bir hammadde konumuna getirmi\u015flerdir.<\/p><p>Sepiyolit\u00a0 terimi ilk defa 1847 y\u0131l\u0131nda Glocker taraf\u0131ndan kullan\u0131lm\u0131\u015f olup Yunanca &#8220;m\u00fcrekkep bal\u0131\u011f\u0131&#8221; anlam\u0131ndaki kelimelerden t\u00fcretilmi\u015ftir. Tabiatta sepiyolit zenginle\u015fmeleri, kabaca iki farkl\u0131 tipte bulunmaktad\u0131r. Bunlardan birinci tip sepiyolit olu\u015fumu, \u00fclkemizde \u00f6zellikle Eski\u015fehir y\u00f6resinde ve Konya-Yunak civar\u0131nda bulunan\u00a0&#8220;l\u00fcleta\u015f\u0131 (meerschaum)&#8221;\u00a0dur. Bir di\u011fer \u00f6nemli sepiyolit olu\u015fumu ise,\u00a0&#8220;end\u00fcstriyel (s\u0131nai) sepiyolit&#8221;\u00a0veya\u00a0&#8220;tabakal\u0131 sepiyolit&#8221;\u00a0olarak da adland\u0131r\u0131lan &#8220;sedimanter sepiyolit&#8221;\u00a0lerdir. Bu olu\u015fumlara, Ankara-Polatl\u0131 g\u00fcneyi, Eski\u015fehir-Sivrihisar g\u00fcneyi ve Eski\u015fehir-Mihal\u0131\u00e7\u00e7\u0131k bat\u0131 alan\u0131nda rastlanmaktad\u0131r. Ayr\u0131ca volkanosedimanter k\u00f6kenli malzemelerin (vitrik t\u00fcf-k\u00fcl t\u00fcf\u00fc) diyajenetik s\u00fcre\u00e7ler i\u00e7erisinde, yeralt\u0131 ve yer\u00fcst\u00fc sular\u0131n\u0131n da etkisi ile de\u011fi\u015fimi sonucu olu\u015fmu\u015f sepiyolit, \u00f6zellikle Na-sepiyolit (loughlinit) yataklanmalar\u0131 da \u00f6nemli bir yer tutar (Eski\u015fehir-Mihal\u0131\u00e7\u00e7\u0131k-Koyuna\u011f\u0131l\u0131). Bunlardan ba\u015fka ekonomik yataklanmalar olu\u015fturmamas\u0131na ra\u011fmen, d\u00fcnyada ve \u00fclkemizde tan\u0131mlanm\u0131\u015f pek \u00e7ok farkl\u0131 olu\u015fum \u015fekillerine sahip sepiyolit t\u00fcrleri mevcuttur. Bunlardan baz\u0131lar\u0131; Fe-sepiyolit, ksilotil, Ni-sepiyolit, Mn-sepiyolit, Al-sepiyolit ve volkanosedimanter malzemelerin hidrotermal alterasyon \u00fcr\u00fcn\u00fc olan Al, Fe-sepiyolittir (Bolu-K\u0131br\u0131sc\u0131k, \u00c7ank\u0131r\u0131-Orta). Paligorskit-atapulgit, ifade ettikleri kil t\u00fcr\u00fc itibariyle e\u015fde\u011ferdir. Paligorskit ismi ilk defa 1862 y\u0131l\u0131nda Von Ssaftschenkar taraf\u0131ndan, ilk bulundu\u011fu yer olan Rusya&#8217;n\u0131n Paligorsk y\u00f6resinin ismine izafeten kullan\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Atapulgit ismi ise, ilk defa Lapparent (1935) taraf\u0131ndan ABD&#8217;nin Georgia-Attapulgus y\u00f6resine g\u00f6re adland\u0131r\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Bug\u00fcn atapulgit terimi daha \u00e7ok ticari alanda kullan\u0131l\u0131rken, bilimsel \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalarda paligorskit terimi tercih edilmektedir. Atapulgit-paligorskit t\u00fcrleri aras\u0131nda Mn-paligorskit, Mn-ferropaligorskit, yofortierit ve tuperssuatsiait say\u0131labilir (Jones ve Gallan, 1988).<\/p><p>Absorpsiyon \u00d6zelli\u011fi\u00a0:\u00a0Zincir yap\u0131s\u0131na sahip minerallerin kristal str\u00fckt\u00fcrlerinde \u00fc\u00e7 t\u00fcr aktif absorpsiyon merkezi mevcuttur. Bunlar; (1) tetrahedral tabakalardaki oksijen iyonlar\u0131, (2) yap\u0131sal zincirlerin kenarlar\u0131ndaki magnezyum iyonlar\u0131na koordine olmu\u015f su molek\u00fclleri, (3) lif eksenleri boyunca uzanan SiOH gruplar\u0131d\u0131r (Serratosa, 1979). Sepiyolitte ortalama mikropor \u00e7ap\u0131 15 \u00c5, mezoporlar\u0131n yar\u0131\u00e7ap\u0131 ise 15 ile 45 \u00c5 aras\u0131ndad\u0131r. Teorik olarak sepiyolit i\u00e7in 400 m2\/g d\u0131\u015f y\u00fczey ve 500 m2\/g i\u00e7 y\u00fczey alan\u0131 saptanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r (Serna ve Van Scoyoc, 1979). Ancak y\u00fczey alan\u0131 hesaplamalar\u0131nda kristal i\u00e7i kanallara g\u00f6nderilen gaz molek\u00fcllerinin \u00e7ap, \u015fekil ve polaritesi \u00f6nemli oldu\u011fundan, bunlar mutlaka refere edilmelidir. \u00d6rne\u011fin, setilpiridinyum brom\u00fcr kullan\u0131larak elde edilen y\u00fczey alan\u0131 60 m2\/g iken, ayn\u0131 \u00f6rnekte en yayg\u0131n metod olan ve nitrojen absorpsiyonuna dayanan BET metodu ile yap\u0131lan \u00f6l\u00e7\u00fcmde 276 m2\/g de\u011feri elde edilebilmektedir (Ruiz-Hitzky ve Fripiat, 1976). Genellikle su ve amonyum gibi polar molek\u00fcller ile nispeten daha az miktarda metil ve etil alkoller sepiyolitin kanallar\u0131na girebilmesine kar\u015f\u0131n, polar olmayan gazlar ve organik bile\u015fikler kanallara giremez. Is\u0131tma i\u015flemi mineralin absorpsiyon \u00f6zelli\u011fini azalt\u0131r, \u00e7\u00fcnk\u00fc yap\u0131sal de\u011fi\u015fime ba\u011fl\u0131 olarak mikroporlar y\u0131k\u0131l\u0131r. Hidrojenasyon, des\u00fclf\u00fcrizasyon, denitrojenasyon, demetilizasyon, etanolden butadien ve metanolden hidrokarbon eldesi gibi bir\u00e7ok katalitik proseste Co,Ni,Fe,Cu,Mo,W,Al,Mg&#8217;un katalitik destekleyicisi olarak sepiyolit kullan\u0131lmaktad\u0131r. Kil minerallerinin katalitik aktivitesi, bunlar\u0131n y\u00fczey aktivitelerinin bir fonksiyonudur. Sepiyolit partik\u00fcllerinin y\u00fczeyindeki Silanol (Si-OH) gruplar\u0131, belli derecede asit \u00f6zelli\u011fe sahiptir ve kataliz\u00f6r ya da reaksiyon merkezi olarak davranabilir. Bu gruplar, mineralin lif ekseni boyunca 5 \u00c5 ara ile s\u0131ralanm\u0131\u015flard\u0131r. Sepiyolitin asitle muamelesi, adsorbe katyonlar\u0131n uzakla\u015ft\u0131r\u0131lmas\u0131 ve y\u00fczey alan\u0131nda art\u0131\u015fa yol a\u00e7ar; g\u00f6zenek da\u011f\u0131l\u0131m\u0131 ve kristallik derecesini etkiler.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>Sepiyolitin katalitik uygulamalar\u0131 \u015funlard\u0131r :<\/p><p>1) Olefinlerde doygun olmayan C=C ba\u011flar\u0131n\u0131n hidrojenasyonu,<\/p><p>2) Otomobil ekzoslar\u0131 ve fabrika bacalar\u0131 i\u00e7in katalitik seramik filtre imali,<\/p><p>3) Etanolden butadien \u00fcretimi,<\/p><p>4) Metanolden hidrokarbon \u00fcretimi,<\/p><p>5) S\u0131v\u0131 yak\u0131tlar\u0131n hidrojenasyonu.<\/p><p>Reolojik \u00d6zellikler: Sepiyolit, su veya di\u011fer s\u0131v\u0131larla, nispeten d\u00fc\u015f\u00fck konsantrasyonlarda y\u00fcksek viskoziteli (1000-40.000 cps\/5 rpm, Brookfield viskozimetresi) ve durayl\u0131 s\u00fcspansiyonlar olu\u015fturur. Sepiyolitten yap\u0131lan s\u00fcspansiyonlar tiksotropik \u00f6zellik g\u00f6sterdi\u011finden, kozmetik, yap\u0131\u015ft\u0131r\u0131c\u0131 ve g\u00fcbre s\u00fcspansiyonlar\u0131nda kal\u0131nla\u015ft\u0131r\u0131c\u0131 (thickener) olarak kullan\u0131l\u0131r. Sepiyolit ayr\u0131ca, di\u011fer killere g\u00f6re tuzlu ortamlarda daha durayl\u0131d\u0131r ve bu nedenle \u00f6zellikle petrol sondajlar\u0131nda \u00e7amur malzemesi olarak kullan\u0131l\u0131r. pH=8&#8217;e kadar faydal\u0131 \u00f6zelliklerini muhafaza eder, ancak pH&gt;9 oldu\u011fu ko\u015fullarda peptizasyon viskozitede ani bir d\u00fc\u015f\u00fc\u015fe neden olur. Lifsi yap\u0131da olmas\u0131, buna kar\u015f\u0131l\u0131k kanserojen etkisinin asbeste k\u0131yasla son derece d\u00fc\u015f\u00fck olmas\u0131, asbest yerine kullan\u0131lmas\u0131n\u0131 da g\u00fcndeme getirmi\u015ftir.<\/p><p>\u00dclkemizde l\u00fcleta\u015f\u0131 \u00fcretimi 200 seneden beri genellikle ilkel metodlarla yap\u0131lmaktad\u0131r. L\u00fcleta\u015f\u0131n\u0131n en \u00e7ok kullan\u0131lan alan\u0131 olan pipo imalinde el sanat\u0131 \u00f6nde gelmektedir. D\u00f6ner f\u0131r\u0131n dizayn\u0131 kurutmada \u00e7ok \u00f6nemli olup gerek istenen rutubet oran\u0131nda \u00fcr\u00fcn eldesi, gerekse de enerji tasarrufu a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan en \u00e7ok \u00fczerinde durulmas\u0131 gereken ekipmand\u0131r. Hammaddenin en karakteristik \u00f6zelli\u011fi olan y\u00fcksek absorbsiyon g\u00fcc\u00fc nedeniyle kapal\u0131 fabrika ve stok sahas\u0131 atmosferinin nem i\u00e7eri\u011finin otomatik olarak kontrol edilerek kuru tutulmas\u0131, f\u0131r\u0131nlanm\u0131\u015f \u00fcr\u00fcn\u00fcn yeniden nem kazanmas\u0131n\u0131 \u00f6nlemek a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan son derecede \u00f6nemlidir.
